Weight Watchers huh?

So... I really don't get it.

You know how you wake up in the morning and turn on the hot water in the shower and while you're waiting for it to get hot you step up on the scale? This morning I did this and was very happy to see that I had lost 3 pounds this week. Yay Me!

An hour and a half later..... I step up on the scale at Cheeseburger Rehab expecting to get a star sticker for my efforts this week only to find that I am only down 0.6 lbs!! Huh? But.... I didn't eat or drink ANYTHING yet!? How can this be? Is my scale playing tricks on me? Grrrrr!

No stickers for me. So sad :-(

WW, Take 3

Soooooooo. After a month-long hiatus from Cheeseburger Rehab, my co-workers and family have coaxed me back.

I have been somewhat reluctant, particularly with the Army case pending, but especially now that I'm moving back to NY and will see people who haven't seen me in a while....... you know the drill.

So I sucked it up and got back on the scale Monday morning. Is it sad that I'm pleasantly surprised that ONLY gained 3 lbs back? After all, Mom and Dad took me out to eat every single day last week....and twice on Sunday. It's all THEIR fault.

So my goal this week is 3 lbs. I'm fairly confident it will come back off as easily as it went on. (hopefully). And then I'd like to go down a few more...like 4 or 5 before I arrive in NY.

WW

WW? What's that?

Yeah, so as far as the diet is concerned, WW flew out the window a few weeks ago. Things are too stressful right now NOT to indulge and frankly, I'm thoroughly enjoying it. I had the most scrumptions salad yesterday with real Bleu Cheese and real croutons and I did NOT feel guilty one bit. I figure in about a week I'm going to be running and doing enough exersize to make up for it. So..... see ya later WW.... you're still my friend, I just need some space right now.

WW Weeeeeeee!

This week I tried to mix it up a little. I planned a different variety of foods to make meals more exciting. So, it made it easier to stay motivated throughout the week, even though I felt a little more hungry than usual.

And the results??? drumroll please....... 3.8lbs!!!!

*** happy dance****

AND, I have now officially lost over 10% of my starting weight!! I got my Weight Watchers official 10% keychain

PS: A few days, I broke from my points and ate a little more. I felt like I was dragging, tired, weak, shakey.... like I wasn't getting enough. I think it's important to pay attention to your body and what it's telling you even when your focus is to pay attention to the points. If I hadn't eaten a little more those days I probably would've lost even more than 3.8. To me, that's almosts too much weight loss. Overall, you have to look at the average lbs you're losing. Over the last 4 weeks I've lost an average of 1.9 lbs, which is perfectly healthy.

WW

Down 1.4 more.

I missed last week's meeting and weigh-in. Instead I went in early to work to try to make up the hours lost while John was sick. So, my 1.4 is actually for 2 weeks. But I'll take it! I've been really bad about journaling and have just tried to keep track of the points in my head. It still works, but only because I've been eating the SAME stuff generally throughout the week. So, I know that by eating it I am staying within my points range. Problem is I've been eating the SAME stuff throughout the week, and it's getting.....really....boring.

WW

As for me nothing much new to report. Last week I went into a rut with weight watchers. After I got my orders from the Army I thought Screw WW! If I lose any more weight that will just make the Army want me MORE right? So maybe I should be GAINING weight? Hehehe. After John's DR appt today I decided to treat him to a milkshake to make his throat feel better (and to kill time until my appt, which just happened to be scheduled for today too). Well, John fell asleep while we were sitting in the drive-thru waiting for the shake. What was I to do? Wake a baby for a sugar high? Let the deliciousness of a Chick-Fil-A milkshake go to waste???
Well, despite my bad attitude last week (and waves of it this week) I did repent of it and still managed to weigh-in 2.4lbs less. That plus the 1.2 from the week before puts me now at 15.6lbs lost so far. On Friday and Sat evening Dave watched the kids after dinner so that I could get some Carolyn time. I bought some new capris and a couple new shirts that fit much better now. I am officially borderline between the ladies and womens sizes, so it took me FOREVER to find the right fit. My lower half is still in the Women's sizes, but I'll get it all back down to the ladies soon (I hope).

WW

This past Friday I managed to weigh in BEFORE I consumed large pieces of cake and ice cream and before date night dinner. So, I'm down another 3.2lbs..... 12lbs so far. I will be finishing my leftovers from last night today and then with the cake gone it will be back tothe grindstone for me. Last week work was crazy busy and stressful and I put in a lot of extra hours (yay overtime!) so I had little time to think about food. This coming week should be somewhat similar, as the lead rep in my market is out on berevement and I am doing much of her work. At least it's only a 4-day week next week. But anyways, I'm already starting to feel a difference in my pants and THAT feels so great!!!

Week 2

Friday's weigh-in at cheeseburger rehab brought me down 3 more lbs. I celebrated with a McD's cheeseburger for lunch (only 7 points!), and still didn't go over my daily points for the day. Isn't it nice to still be able to eat your fav foods when you're on a diet?

WW

So I did actually check myself back into cheeseburger rehab (ie. Weight Watchers) last week. This Friday was my first weigh-in and I lost 5.8lbs!!!! Yay!!!

Tuesday, April 29, 2008

On a fatness scale ranging from flamingo to whale, I'd rate how I feel today somewhere around a walrus.

So, time to check myself back into cookie rehab....back to Weight Watchers.

WW

Well, having moved and stuff, I kinda put the diet on hold for a few weeks. We ate out practically every day last week simply because I had no way of cooking anything (understandably). But I think the kitchen is now to the point that I cannot use it as an excuse anymore. Tomorrow I'm back on. I missed last week's weigh-in, but I weighed myself this afternoon after church with clothes on, and I was pleasantly surprised that I had not gained. Though, I can't help but wonder where I might be if I had just TRIED to stick to it despite eating out. Oh well, time to move on.

WW

The past few days have been a huge battle for me. I feel like I've been on this diet forever, but it's only been a few days. I've struggled physically, emotionally, and willpowerly. It's a no wonder so many people give up after a few days. I feel a lot like I'm mourning an old friend. Food was my company at night, my friend when I was bored, any excuse to celebrate even a simple accomplishment. It was there when I needed it. Now, it is not.

I used all my flex points at the baby shower on Sunday. My friend made a trifle with dark chocolate brownies, rasperries, and a raspberry bavarian creme-like layered together and I must tell you that I....literally......cried when I ate it. After the first few days I figured out how to spread my points out so I wasn't stuck with a bunch at the end of the day that I had to use up, so that helps. But that leaves me feeling slightly above hungry all day long. It's a strange feeling to get used to. There are times when I was SO tempted to break down and just chow down. My sister saved me yesterday from polishing of the remainder of Seth's little pizza. I called her up like a rehab partner to convince me not to eat it. It worked, I didn't even eat the crust. Today I ate half of some fries at McDonalds (I don't let Seth eat a whole one), and that satisfied my fast food craving. That's what I do LOVE about WW. I can eat whatever I want still, I just have to balance it out.

The one thing I do love about all of this, and this is the reason I think it'll work this time around, is that I have much more support. My sister inspired me to start on this new adventure. My husband is doing this with me, though not going to meetings. I started just doing all his points for him and telling him what to eat, but he got tired of that quick and figured out the points and stuff for himself and is now following it along with me. And lastly, I think it will work this time because I am going to the meetings. The meetings give me a goal to meet, a weekly finish line of weigh-in where I can celebrate my little accomplishments with people who are doing the same thing with me. I'm really looking forward to this week being over and going to get on that scale. I know that the longer I'm sticking with it the easier it will get.

WW

Day 2 on WW and the grump-factor settled in around 2 0'clock. My body is going through some low-sugar shock and increased veggie intake shock. This, however is normal and should go away in a few days...hopefully. In the mean time, I'm very grouchy. This evening I made a few desserts for the baby shower tomorrow, which just made things worse. I wonder how many points a beater lick is.

WW

So, only one day into Weight Watchers (ie Cheeseburger rehab) and that's exactly what we eat for dinner...cheeseburgers. No worries though. Since I am still nursing, I get an insane amt of points to use. Almost too many. I just sat down and did the math, and I still have 9.5 points that I HAVE to eat today. That's like...another entire meal! I'm wondering...am I really going to lose any weight? Not that I'm really complaining about having to eat, but is it really ok to finish off the rest of the points with ice cream? Isn't that bad? Hm...I guess we'll see in a week.
